Cleveland Browns final roster — and other thoughts/observations

  • Deshaun Watson — will take roster spot despite being suspended 11 games
  • Jacoby Brissett — interim starter — lets see what he’s got
  • Josh Dobbs — reliable and serviceable — would love to see him play with starters just to see how high his ceiling would be
  • Nick Chubb — obviously
  • Kareem Hunt — he’s staying one more year
  • D’Earnest Johnson — I think they keep him around unless he’s trade bait for a WR
  • Jerome Ford — next good back to come through pipeline
  • Amari Cooper — weird not seeing him ONCE in preseason
  • Donavan Peoples-Jones — has to step up even more
  • David Bell — coaches love him and I think he may be #2 by year end
  • Anthony Schwartz — yes he’s staying Browns will figure it out with him
  • Demetric Felton — hybrid guy and think team still likes him — might be Special Teams guy
  • JaMarcus Bradley — played in spurts last two years with club end roster spot
  • Michael Woods II — they drafted him think they keep him around on PS unless they take him over Bradley
  • David Njoku — big contract means bigger production
  • Harrison Bryant — expecting bigger things out of him too — time to step up
  • Miller Forristall — Free agent pickup — think he makes it
  • Johnny Stanton IV — hybrid guy who can do anything — think he makes it primarily through ST but is serviceable
  • Jedrick Wills — injury plagued last year — needs to show burst from rookie year
  • Joel Bitonio — clearly best lineman they have
  • Ethan Pocic — they will ride with him at center and it has to work
  • Wyatt Teller — left last game with knee issue but if healthy best guard in league
  • Jack Conklin — is healthy to play and could start Week 1
  • James Hudson III — got thrown in fire as rookie and had his licks. Nice upside but will see how Browns use him
  • Michael Dunn — has played well in multiple spots even center
  • Blake Hance — another serviceable backup
  • Myles Garrett — like, obviously
  • Taven Bryan — played better in last preaseason game — serviceable but nothing fancy
  • Jordan Elliot — every defensive player raving about his growth think this is year he steps up
  • Jadeveon Clowney — he stayed another year with club — if healthy helps the run game big time
  • Alex Wright — he’s grown up big time and potential is there
  • Perrion Winfrey — lets see if bark meets bite, got pushed around a bit but lately has looked good
  • Tommy Togia — local Buckeye and pulling for him but still think he’s about a year away. Again serviceable.
  • Isiah Thomas — another rookie who’s shown up — had injury between games but a lot of potential
  • Chase Winovich — hasn’t played all preseason — injured — wouldnt be surprised either way but they signed him in offseason to help d-line
  • Anthony Walker — good leader want to see him make consistent big plays
  • JOK — this is year league finds out about him and he’s top in his position
  • Jacob Phillips — looked a little lost at times but still made some plays — stay healthy and he’s gonna be good
  • Sione Takitaki — has always made plays still think Browns like him but think this also may be last year with club
  • Tony Fields II — 2nd year guy who has played very well and grown up now after lost rookie season — think he gets some run
  • Willie Harvey Jr. — he’s been solid in camp and preseason more ST guy
  • Denzel Ward — ready for another big year
  • Greg Newsome — think he goes nuts this year
  • AJ Green — been a fan of him and think he’s solid corner
  • John Johnson III — like Walker need him to start making consistent plays
  • Grant Delpit — if healthy will be a menace…again…if healthy
  • Martin Emerson — the rook will be put in some hot spots this season for sure…potential there but probably some growing pains
  • Greedy Williams — think it might be his last year with club — either hit or miss and again the health
  • D’Anthony Bell — primarily a ST guy — nearly blocked a punt in last game.
  • Richard LeCounte — 2nd year guy getting an opportunity
  • Corey Borjorquez — has booming leg and punted well. Experienced enough too so if things get hairy won’t run around like an idiot like last punter
  • Cade York — the videos of long field goals are good but when its real time gotta deliver. Browns expect him to be next great kicker in league.
  • Charley Hughlett — long snapper — no issues so keep him around
